I know it has been a while, but I have been really busy breathing new life into old, worn-out cloths.

I made aprons from the legs of worn jeans,

as well as handbags...

and a book cover.

Then there is the handbags I make from the pocket front of a worn denim...I just love up cycling.

I made this jacket for a local school, to be used at all their sports events. I just love all the bling, different buttons and even the tie-dyed-zebra lining.

Just love these light grey velvet curtains in the bathroom!

A few more creations that used to be something else.

I took an old (basically never been worn) T-shirt and turned it into a birthday-present-dress for a little girl.

Old, worn jeans revived as sling bags. My sister-in-law just loved the Diesel-Bird-Bag.

Take what you have (or found somewhere) and make something new.

These used to be coffee bean bags. I just added a few scraps of material found in discontinued fabric sample books and some braid...and Ta-Daa! I even reused the label on the bag to make the rosette.

During the past year, I started embroidering to get rid of some of my frustrations. Just random words, like Love. It puts a smile on my face knowing that there went so much emotion into making these. Quite therapeutic putting your feelings out there and then letting them go.

I absolutely love working with felt, it's so versatile... no hems or seams required.

An owl scatter cushion for a baby's room.

These were used to make wildlife inspired quilt for a friend's birthday!

Harry had this light blue shirt, his absolute favourite. He wore it every time he had to look really dashing, which he did. Unfortunately for him the shirt started falling apart. So I unpicked the shirt, used it's pattern and made him a new one, light blue of course.

The bride loves her dress. Now I have one less thing to worry about. Time to start focusing on all the other work I have waiting for me... the bridesmaids dresses, the curtains, etc.

I love the variety of my work, never a dull moment. It's interesting the see with what requests some people come to me, but I always find a way to help each and everyone.

Layers and layers of off-white chiffon and a now-you-see-me-no-you-don't purple chiffon lining.

The flower brooch.

This was hard work, but looking at the end result I must say it was well worth it. Now just hold thumbs that the bride-to-be likes it too.

Everyone of us get to a point in our lives where we have to pick up the pieces of a life we once knew and create a new, even better life.  This is me starting my new life, making lemon meringue with the lemons life has dealt me.  I'm putting my self out there and sharing the things that make me happy (which usually is something I've made from preloved items I had laying around). Nuovo Inizio...my sister told me it means new beginnings in Italian, so here's to all the wonderful new beginnings that awaits me!
